Ø      Re-engineered a newly installed multimillion-dollar disaster recovery site. Originally designed as a cold standby, reengineered to a fully load balanced production Data Center. New design increased system response time by 68%, saving over $1,000,000 in planned capital expense, and increased reliability from 87% to 99.99%.

Responsible for Managing and Engineering companies two primary Data Centers located in Maine and Utah. Manage all technical staffs including Systems and Database Administration, Network Administration and Engineering, both internal and client service and support staff, and all Voice and Data Systems including multiple PBX/IVR systems. Unisys - State of Pennsylvania

Assigned to Manage and Engineer the Infrastructure in support of a statewide technology consolidation project. Project was already five years ongoing with virtually no progress. The foremost challenge was opposition from each of the State’s 47 Agency’s CIOs, stating their individual technical requirements had no mutual requirements to other agencies. Provided with a staff of 14 highly skilled technologists and a nine-month timeline to complete the designs and begin implementations. Engineered new consolidated design and obtained acceptance from all Agencies in first month.

Ø      Engineered a new infrastructure that supported the requirements, gaining the acceptance from all of the State’s 47 Agencies and perspective CIOs and technical staff members.

Ø      Initiated the project by consolidating the 47 different email systems into a single Microsoft Exchange installation. Installation supported 84,000+ State Users, filtering over 800,000 unsolicited messages daily and successfully managing over 5,000,000 messages daily. Deemed by Microsoft Corporation as the World’s largest single instance of Microsoft Exchange in government space.

Ø      Completed project’s planning, design, and implementation, including establishing a Statewide Help Desk and supporting staff, all in less than the nine months provided and financially more than $240 k under budget.

Ø      Resulting infrastructure was estimated to save the State $500,000,000 in capital and annual operational costs.
